Natural fiber carpets are typically made from organic material such as wool.
Do they last longer? Yes they will last longer, but they are cost prohibitive, costing up to ten times as much as synthetic fiber carpets.
Natural carpets take up to four time to dry, and have a tendency to shrink
Natural fiber carpets are considered a boutique type of carpet, beautiful to look and feel but very impractical. Getting a stain out of these carpets is very difficult. Consider your clothes that are cotton or wool, and how sensitive they are.
Natural fiber carpet is actually very hard to find, usually has to be ordered in specially for a project.
Because the carpet is organic, it has been known to shelter ticks and fleas, and mold and mildew find it easier to grow in these types of carpets.
My recommendation is to purchase synthetic carpet, that carpet represents about 97% of the product sold.
