Homestars is great place for reviews. Unfortunately only about 2% to 5% of the population goes on Homestars to post reviews.
This means that there are a lot of very happy customers that did not post a review, and some very unhappy customers that didn't post a review.
When you call a medium to large size service company, you may get a great Technician one time, then the next time, a different Carpet Cleaning Technician, and the job may not be what you were expecting.
But when you call an owner operated service company, you know what you are getting every time, because it is the owner that is doing the work, and you have a relationship with them.
